LINER NOTES

King Baldwin's Shut Up & Dance is a conservative album written by a bunch of liberals. As a band, our revelation was that people on the left were often just as annoying as people on the right, though none of us had felt allowed to admit it because Trump was so f’ing bad; it seemed like a betrayal. But there was something glorious about ending our self-censorship, and through the King Baldwin lens emerged a group of songs in which Robert E. Lee’s statue advocates for its own removal and Mitch McConnell does blow with Lou Reed. Fiery, funny, and groovy as hell, Shut Up & Dance is the pandemic-era album your post-pandemic ears have been waiting for.
